Ningerum Primary to Undergo Major Facelift

Ningerum Primary School inthe Western Province launched its four point five million kina (K4.5m) infrastructure fund from North Fly MP Beka Kondra onIndependence Dayfor its major facelift work this year.

 

The fund was made available underthe North Fly DSIP.

A senior teachers’aidthe school urgently needs to renovate its deteriorated classrooms and staff housing.

 

Fromthe Eastern Highlands province, he had served inthe Western Province for over forty years.

 

He said education standards will improver whenthese problems are addressed.

 

“We are living in condemned houses, very old houses that were built back in 1964,” he said.
 

 

He advisedthe provincial government to usethe funding accordingly and make sure all areas are improverd.

 

The school caters for over two hundred students’ranging from elementary one to grade eight. These are children fromthe nearby villages andthe public servants working withinthe Ningerum station.

 

The fund isthe largest project for the school, andthe major facelift is expected to improver quality of education.

 

Teachersand locals are adamant this project will changethe school for the better, and will attract more public servants andtheir families to settle and work inthe district.
