Softball: Stingers defeat Wolves 4-2

Stingers defeated Wolves, 4-2 inthe Port Moresby Womenrsquo;s Softball pre-season competition played atthe Besini Diamonds. 

It’sthe annual pre-season Nancy Kamara Cup and allthe softball action amongthese Port Moresby women have certainly turned upthe heat overthe past weeks.

 

With one more round of matches to go, Wolves in bright colors took on Stingers in red in a close and interesting match.

 

Stingers were on target withthe bat asthey trlied to score more home runs to securethe match while Wolves stayed focused intheir fielding.

 

Wolves looked comfortable withthe bat and ran between bases wherethey could.

 

The women in orange scored, but alert fielding from Stingers sent wolves back tothe dugout.

 

It was a close encounter and won’t bethe last for both teams asthe pre-season matches continue next week.

 

Stingers inthe end proverd worthy withthe bat outscoring Stingers afterthe 5th innings to takethe match 4-2.

 

Defending Champions, United Sisters will have to work harder this season inthe Port Moresby Womenrsquo;s Softball Competition ifthey are to maintaintheir reign.

 

A number oftheir key players have moverd to form new club, Yokomo.

 

Yokomo took on Gazzelle stating an early claim for the season.

 

Gazzelle with a whole lot of experienced hands gave Yokomo a good challenge andthe 2013 season will no doubt be a tough one.
