Over six hundred women inthe Southern Region gthered at Aroma Central Province for the thirdWomen AriseConvention.
The spiritual program was to empower women and girls to make a difference intheir communities.
Womenand girls attended sessions in prayer and bible study classes, including social advices and discussions.
Southern RegionWomen AriseCoordinator Phyllis Morea said women will benefit and make difference intheir homes.
“We encourage mthers to rise up and come out oftheir old life and enter intothe new life…our nation needs to change,” said Morea.
Morea mention thatthe attendance of women is a step forward for women inthe region.
Guest speaker Jean Parkop applaudedthe lLeadersand women who organisedthe convention in empowering women.
“Womenarethe backbone ofthe men in this country,” said Mrs Parkop.
Sohe MP and Vice Minister for Treasury Delilah Gore challenged women to arise and movPNG forward.
“I am thankful that you women are empowering ther women’s piritually, mentally and physically…this can help you women to empower your own home after this gthering,” Gore toldthe women.
Gore voiced that women must be influential intheir societies.
