The loan will assist Papua New Guinearsquo;s Avenell Engineering System’s Limited to constructthe new wharf and ease congestion atthe main wharf.
The new wharf will be constructed atthe RavuvuIndustrial Park on Napa Napa about 20 kilometres west of Port Moresby.
The wharf will feature a 180 meter berth and a 40 meter ramp.
IFC’PNG Representttative Carolyn Beacklock saidthe partnership provides certainty of long-term financial assistance.
The loan will also allow additional purchase of machinery to upgrade port services.
The new wharf will stimulate more trade forPNG rsquo;s economy and create job opportunities for men and women.
