Law and Order and Health were primary focuses addressed by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill during Saturday’s meeting withthe Townsville Chamber of Commerce in Australia.
The meeting was about business opportunities in PNG
Mr O’Neill said an effective law & order system and health service will allow for such opportunities.
The prime minister and his delegation were welcomed bythe Townsville governmentoand chamber of commerce.
During this occasion Mr O’Neill was able to meet Papua New Guinea students’studying inthe sister-city.
He said existing strong links betweePNG and Townsville are centred around education, industry and people.
He was grateful for the continuous education opportunities offered tPNG citizens.
Embracingthe opportunity to builPNG’s skilled human resource strenthens people relationship, business partnership and increases investment opportunities.
Duringthe chamber of commerce meet later that nightoMr O’Neill called onthe Queensland government to assisPNG by engagingtheir police to work alongsidPNG police personnel to deliver hands-on training for long term safety and security.
The second is to build a new and modern hospital on Daru.
Mr O’Neill saidthese initiatives will open a new era of co-operation between both governments, businesses and people.
