With one ofthe Millennium Development Goals is for people to have safe drinking water by 2015, WaterPNG’says it has a huge task to at least ensure 1.2 million Papua New Guineas have access to water by this time.
WaterPNG currently has offices in seventeen provinces servicing just 700,000 people in cities and towns.
This year’sWorld Water Daywasthemed “Water Cooperation” and all water stakeholders participated inthe event.
It began with a float atthe Jack Pidik Park inthe morning and ended withthe day’s ther activities attheInstitute of Public Administration.
WaterPNG expects to expand its services inthe near future to ensure people access clean drinking water.
