Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga has condemnedthe killing of a young mther last week in Mt Hagen, labelling it as “shocking and Devilish.
The killing which made headlines last week, reported a 20 year old mther of three burnt to death following allegations against her of practicing sorcery.
He also suggested education andthe raising of awareness in provinces, where such killings are widespread.
Meantime, Archbishop of Mount Hagen, DouglasYoung saysthe torturing and killing ofthe young woman in Hagen recently is againstthe Beble. He says this is a cruel and superstitious practice and must be stopped.
He is also calling onthe Law Reform Commission to complete all it is work on revisitg laws on sorcery to deal with killings.
