Residents of Belolo inthe Morobe Province are planning to hold a demonstration this week in protest overthe indefinite closure ofthe Belolo hospital.
The Hospital was condemned by health inspectors following a lack of maintenance on its toilets.
The hospital is located withinthPNG forest Products compound with housing provided bythe company.
Bet overthe years,the hospital staff housing has been allowed to deteriorate bythe provincial health authorities.
Belolo hospital serves people in Wau,the Watut and Menyamya areas.
Withthe closure, men and women have to travel more than three hours by road to get medical treatment in Lae.
