Digicel Commends PNGNRL For Acting On 2014 Digicel Cup Final

Following speculation surrounding the Digicel Cup Grand Final location, Digicel has commended the PNGNRL for responding in a favourable manner.

Earlier in the week, Hela Wigmen refused to play the grand final against the Agmark Gurias in Kokopo at Kalabond Oval; due to the unsettlement, both Digicel PNG and PNGNRL were forced to respond accordingly.

Commenting on this year’s grand final, Digicel PNG CEO, John Mangos, congratulated PNGNRL Chairman Sudhir Guru for his efforts in bringing together all parties and reaching a quick resolution regarding the grand final venue, which was in the best interest of rugby league in PNG.

Both parties applauded the Agmark Gurias and Hela Wigmen for displaying true Sportmanship by putting the interest of rugby league first.

Digicel PNG appeals to rugby league fans for a ‘violence free’ grand final.

The champions of the Digicel Cup 2014 season will be decided this Sunday at the Lae League Rugby Oval, kicking off at 2pm.
