Welfare Responds to Father’sDilemma claims

In the meantime, the Director for Child Welfare or Lukautim Pikinini Act Simon Yanis has confirmed that the case dates back to 2007 and his officers are only following protocol.

The director said the medical reports produced by Doctor Teddy Ben from Saint John Clinic in Gerehu are false and both boys are very healthy.

Mr Yanis also denied allegations made by Captain Martens on the K100 000 compensation money demanded by his former partner.

He said, his officer is not aware of such claims and it is their responsibility to protect children from any abuse and exploration.

He said the search warrant issued to Captain Martens by Lae officers is invalid and his office in Port Moresby did not receive a copy of the search warrant.

This will three weeks now that the boys have been taken off their father after he rescued them from Lae’s Papuan Compound.

Meanwhile the two boys are still with the welfare officers in Port Moresby.
