NGB Gives To New Ireland Women Council

New Ireland Women have been called to participate actively and build New Ireland Province.

This call comes after the National Gaming Board handed over a cheque of two hundred thousand to the Provincial Council of Women.

This assistance will allow the women of New Ireland to play a full role in ensuring that development in the province happen in a way that is supportive of the family, the community and the interests of the province.

Desley Paanasae Rowan, Manager of Community Development at New Ireland Provincial Administration, said the funding will revive the Provincial Council of Women after eleven years of inactivity.

“The cheque has been some time in coming, but we are very pleased it has now arrived, and this means the New Ireland Women’s Council can look with renewed confidence to the future'” Mrs. Rowan said.

The funding was committed by Prime Minister, Peter O&rsquO’Neill last year when he toured the province.
