‘Getting to Zero’ is the theme selected by the World AIDS Campaign to commemorate this year’s World AIDS Day on Saturday, the first of December. The new theme will be used until 2015.

In Port Moresby, Anglicare Stop AIDS led an organized march for the North West electorate, raising awareness on HIV testing, and bringing the HIV infection rate to zero.
Around the city, buildings and offices have been decorated with the red ribbon commemorating World AIDS Day.
Other activities also took place during the day that were just as significant and relevant to the day.
In the Boroko suburb of Port Moresby, the Nasfund building and TST Supermarket, both sporting a red ribbon each, had their surroundings cleaned up by members of the Business Coalition Against HIV and AIDS.
Wearing red and promoting community partnership with such an initiative is a positive strategy in increasing advocacy against the spread of HIV.
