People of Wain overwhelmed by PM’s visit

The people of Wain of Nawaeb District in Morobe province were overwhelmed that the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill visited their area.

Mr O’Neill was in the area to campaign for PNC candidate for Nawaeb, Gisuwat Mangere Siniwin. He also committed a total of K500, 000 to the area. Respectively K200, 000 each was earmarked for two schools, Gain and Bosa, and the balance of K100, 000 was to support the work of the Lutheran church there.

Mr Siniwin has a background of high school teacher, having thought for twenty-eight years in various secondary schools throughout the country. His last posting prior to his resignation to contest the election was as the Principal of Bumayong Lutheran High School.

He has vowed to improve the roads leading into his area to enable his people to have better access to markets for their fresh produce and coffee.

Mr O’Neill urged the people to vote wisely and to elect good leaders to represent them in the next parliament.  

He was presented a string bilum from a student representative. Among the crowd two mothers took to the stage to thank him for relieving them of the burden to pay school fees for their children.

Also present at the rally were Ginson Sauna, former MP for Kabwum and current PNC candidate for the Morobe regional seat and sitting MP for Huon Gulf, Sasa Zibe.
