Thick smoke billowed out of the Vision City compound in the Nation's Capital this afternoon.
Many travellers along the Sir John Guise Drive and the Waigani Drive could have mistaken the smoke for coming from the mall itself. However, the smoke was coming from the compound of the construction company, China Railway Construction Company, contracted to Vision City.
One eye witness said that the fire started from a small one a man was buring within the vicinity. As it was quite windy today, some of what was buring was swept onto planks of wood kept in the yard of the construction company which was set alight and caused the smoke.
Fire Fighters came to the rescue just in time to put out the flames and stop it from spreading further. Vision City Mall was not affected.
