Opposition slams police act on ‘Condom video’

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The Opposition today joined a chorus of condemnation on a cop, who inflicted on a Gulf lass to ‘chew and eat condoms in Boroko police cell this week.’

Mr Don Polye said, “Our women, girls, children and the disadvantaged should be treated with respect and dignity.”

He further stated ‘this rogue behaviour’ angered him, describing it as ‘inhuman and animalistic.’

His vice parliamentary leader of Triumph Heritage Empowerment party and Lae MP, Loujaya Kouza, described the cop who forced the woman into the act as ‘sadistic’.

Ms Kouza is responsible for the rights of women, girls, children and the disadvantaged in the party.

Polye has commended the top brass of the police hierarchy, calling for the suspect’s identification through a formal complaint by the woman.

He said, however, he hoped results would not be still outstanding as was the norm for many police brutality cases.

Polye has called on his fellow men not to live in the past and begin to respect the rights of the ‘weak human beings’ in the society.

“It is about time we need to weed out a few rogue police personnel who continue to throw mud at the Royal Constabulary,” an angry Polye said.
