In the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, it will be a fun-filled sporting Christmas in North Bougainville, with the staging of the Lauta Cup Tournament.

According to Aloysius Laukai from New Dawn FM in Buka, the Lauta Cup was officially launched at the Bel Isi Park in Buka town on Friday.

The tournament has already attracted 32 teams from the region and those from their districts as well.

Games will be played in four fields, Hutjena, Malasang, Hangan and Bonus.

Only Soccer will be played during the Lauta Cup.

North Bougainville MP, Lauta Atoi, says he wants to see a peaceful Festivity, and for youths to be engaged in meaningful activities.

“I want youths to be engaged in meaningful games during the festive season,” he said.

Earlier this year, Mr Atoi also sponsored another game that inspired him to sponsor this cup during the festive season.
