Papalau Awele would score in the first minute, as Hekari sought to assert themselves against a confident Erema Gulf FC.
The match, fast-paced in the beginning, as the Southern conference leaders looked to wear down the opposition.
Hekari were controlled and looked poised. Erema spent the first few minutes ball watching.
Short passes for Erema while for Hekari, movement off the ball was key as they switched with ease.
Absolam Niso brilliantly setting up Sammy Poesi, who went to the heavens instead that miss coming back to haunt them.
The pace of the match fast as Erema looked to maintain some form of dominance over Hekari’s composure.
Wilson Gia coming close as Awele found space in the box.
Erema, unable to commit players forward, as Hekari created chance after chance.
For them, the nearest chance, a weak shot on target by striker Tau Winnie.
And as Hekari’s over lapping runs caused chaos, frustration, when Willie Gia’s header went begging.
David Mutah having a rare off day, with a series of missed passes and awkward control, but it was Gia on 45 minutes who doubled Hekari’s lead.
