Women Role Changing: Australian Defence Force recognises Women Participation in Force

Women roles and responsibilities in today world have changed very much. The common trend denying women rights to having a balanced level that of men is eventually transitioning and today, women are found dominating male careers unlike before. 

In marking the long history of men fighting for Australia, ANZAC Centenary, Australian Defence Force has taken its journey into recognising female participation in the force and how women in the force has plaqued its progress.

Today, 15% of the population in the force is made up of female and they are full time forces.

Amongst many historical women figures in the force, and adding to the list is Lieutenant Kate Munari. Lieutenant Kate is a pilot with Royal Australia Navy (RAN) and is now training to be a flight commander on MRH-90 helicopter.

She is one of the five female pilots in the Royal Australian Navy and has been a pilot for more than a decade. Though a challenging career, Lieutenant Kate said it is rewarding. She added that the career gives a real sense of satisfaction when getting out and doing the job, interacting with the troops, helping the people out there and seeing the difference you (one) can make.
