Water Supply to Games Facilities Ready

By Quinton Alomp – EM TV, Port Moresby

Port Moresby’s main water supplier, Eda Ranu, is satisfied with water and sewerage systems at all 2015 Pacific Games venues.

Chief Executive Officer, Henry Mokono, says his men will be on the ground during the games to make sure disruptions are minimised.

Eda Ranu expects about 15 to 20, 000 visitors in the city, including athletes from over 20 countries, and gave its assurance that water supply to all sporting venues will be managed efficiently.

Furthermore, Eda Ranu dismissed claims of its workers having entered Hanjung Power Plant in Kanudi, outside Port Moresby, and of allegedly being involved in the fatal shooting of a Korean national, last week.

CEO Mokono said his officers do not carry firearms whilst on duty and that security guards at the site are at fault for not checking the identification card to verify those criminals involved.

The murder of the Korean man was confirmed by police. The Korean community in Port Moresby are disturbed by this news.
