New Zealand Pacific Scholarships

By Delly Waigeno – EM TV, Port Moresby

A study in New Zealand roadshow was held over the weekend in Port Moresby.

Development Program Coordinator Education with the New Zealand High Commission, Ramphaey Gime, said six academic institutions were part of the roadshow.

At the Laguna Hotel yesterday, academic institutions from New Zealand were part of an education road show to promote their respective programs and courses.

Organised by the New Zealand High Commission, six of the 10 contracted institutions interacted with potential candidates of the New Zealand Pacific Scholarships.

Young interested candidates asked representatives questions about the various programs, the New Zealand Pacific Scholarships and the Short Term Training Awards.

New Zealand Pacific Scholarships recognise the close personal, cultural, and economic ties that New Zealand enjoys with other Pacific countries, including Papua New Guinea.

The New Zealand Pacific Scholarship is focused on increasing the number of young students and high academic achievers studying in New Zealand and to build a new generation of Pacific leadership with strong links to New Zealand.

The scholarships are funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme, the New Zealand Government’s international aid and development programme.

The New Zealand Pacific Scholarships are for both undergraduate and postgraduate study in New Zealand.
