24 Days remain for Pacific Games

With 24 days left from today, 9 June, Papua New Guinea will be hosting the biggest sporting event in the nation’s history.

On July 4th, 2015, 24 nations throughout the Pacific, consisting of 4,000 athletes and officials, will converge in Port Moresby to participate accross 28 sports.

The Games Organising Committee CEO, Peter Stuart, was at the Government house yesterday for the Games relay batons brief stay.

During his speech, he said the GOC is pleased with the overall outcome and hard work being put into the games and venues.

Last week a delegation, sponsored by the Port Moresby chamber of Commerce, had toured the new facilities at Taurama and the Sir John Guise stadium, with many expressing amazement and satisfaction at the progress.

Participating countries in the games will all begin arriving by the last week of June, with the Cook Islands team among the first to arrive. The large New Caledonian contingent are set to arrive on the 4th of July.
