A secondary school in Simbu aims to provide quality education by improving its school infrastructure.
Last Friday, Kerowagi Secondary School opened one of its finest student dormitories.
The construction of the new male dormitory was an initiative of the school’s administration and governing council.
Over one thousand people gathered to witness the opening of the new student dormitory at the Kerowagi Secondary School in Simbu.
The Governor for Morobe, Kelly Naru opened the new building.
The new facility built was funded through the school’s 2013 Tuition Fee Free funds.
Kerowagi Secondary School Principal, Samuel Kono, said the completion of the project hinged on cooperation from all stakeholders.
The school being one of the oldest in the Highlands has produced some of the country’s elites.
Some of the materials present inside the dormitory rooms were that of higher education institutions.
Over 100 male students will use the dorm; the secondary school dormitory will compare to a university dorm.
Kerowagi Secondary School has set the precedence for other schools around the country to use government funds to build better infrastructure.
