Round Six NRL Wrap

By Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

Round six of the NRL season saw a brilliant performance from the Brisbane Broncos as they continued their impressive form, defeating the Sydney Roosters 22 points to 18.

The Sharks, Titans, Storm and Dragons finished off the round with much needed wins.

The Cronulla Sharks, following their impressive performance against the Roosters, were in top form this weekend, defeating the Newcastle Knights 22 – 6. Ben Barber hobbled from the field four minutes from full time, with what appeared to be an ankle injury.

The Gold Coast Titans proved too strong for the Parramatta Eels winning the match 38 – 16 in front of a home crowd.
Centre James Robert was the star of the Titans, with a hat-trick including two intercept tries.

Queenslander Cameron Munster had an outstanding performance in the absence of Billy Slater, helping the Melbourne storm overcome the Canberra Raiders 14 points to 10.
And the St. George Illawarra Dragons thoroughly deserved their impressive 31 – 6 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Tyson Frizell avoided being sent-off, despite knocking out Canterbury prop Tim Browne with what is deemed as the worst swinging arm of the season.

Round 6 see’s the Broncos sitting at the top of the points ladder two points clear from the Melbourne Storm, South Sydney Rabbitohs, St. George Illawarra Dragons, and Newcastle Knights following close after.

The Manley Sea Eagles are at the bottom of the ladder, with just one win so far this season.
