Two men are dead while three were injured, from a clash between Hanuabada villagers and local police. One of them is the grandson of senior statesman, Sir Dadi Toka.

The families of the victims have demanded that justice is served on the policemen involved.

The families of the deceased are still trying to come to terms with the death of their sons.

The news conference was held where the two men were alleged to have being shot by police.

Both parents of the deceased, Davai Rarua, who is the father of Nicholas Rarua and Gaudi Toka, father of Toka Gaudi described their sons as law abiding citizens who did not deserve to die in such a tragic manner.

They expect justice to be served and called authorities not ignore this issue.

They want NCD Governor, Powes Parkop to clarify the enforcement of the buai ban and the responsibilities surrounding the conduct of the police officers enforcing the ban.

The deceased Nicholas Rarua, 36, leaves behind a young daughter and a wife who is eight months pregnant. The late Nicholas had recently left Exxon mobile PNG ltd where he worked as a Technical Adviser with the company’s regulatory division.

Toka Gaudi, 29, was unmarried, and worked as a driver for the local radio station, Lalokau FM, before his untimely death.
