The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations has embarked on transforming its corporate image with the launch of its new uniforms yesterday.

Secretary, George Vaso, urged his staff to uphold professionalism in their duties and not to bring the company into disrepute with their conduct.

He says, the department has a vital role in improving workers’ welfare and that must not be compromised.

The launch is in line with the departments’ Medium Term Development Strategy (MTDS).

It is aimed at portraying a good corporate image to all stakeholders.

Secretary Vaso, told his staff to take pride in their new corporate wear.

He says, for too long the department has been complacent on its performance and hopes this will change the mindset of employees.

He expects change and will be tough on those who do not comply.

Minister for Labor and Industrial Relations, Mark Maipakai, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the department.

Field officers within the department will be given a different set of uniforms suitable to their working environment.
