PM on Tangit

PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill, has said that issues surrounding the suspension and reinstatement of PNG CEO, John Tangit, is being handled by the minister responsible, Ben Micah.

Mr O’Neill said everyone, including the PNG Power Board and Chief Executive Officer, should work together.

He said he was confident that these issues would be resolved amicably.

This was the first time Mr O’Neill has come out public regarding what has been a tumultuous week for the national energy supply provider.

The PNG Power Board, under Acting Chairman, Robert Bradshaw, today successfully gained a court order restraining Mr Tangit from being reinstated.

This, after Minister Micah gave an ultimatum to them to reinstate the suspended CEO, or face disbandment by the National Executive Council.
