North Waghi Electrification Project

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between North Waghi MP and PNG Power for an Electrification Project in the North Waghi rural area.

The project will kick off mid-February this year, and should be completed by next year.

The signing of the MOU took place at PNG Power Headquarters in Port Moresby.

Minister for Defence and North Waghi MP, Fabian Pok, signed the MOU with PNG Power CEO, John Tangit.

Mr Pok was happy to partner with PPL in establishing the project in his electorate.

He added that as long as he is the member of North Waghi, he will make sure the project is given required funding, and is completed successfully.

K5 million was allocated last year for the first three-quarters of the project, and funding will be given this year for the final quarter.

PNG Power will provide advice and materials to assist in carrying out the project.
