By Samantha Semoso – EMTV Online

Preschool is important for many children; it is their first experience in a structured setting with teachers and groups of children. It’s an opportunity for them to learn to share, follow instructions, and begin the foundation of learning. It prepares and launches the child on the path to success in school.

But what about those that are tasked with educating these little learners and carrying the responsibility as seconds parents in school? Are they well-compensated for their efforts?

The teachers who educate our youngest children are struggling to make ends meet. These early child educators earn very little money compared to teachers of higher grades. Preschool teachers struggle to get by. They deserve more pay given the fact they play a critical role in helping children grow and develop. They help set the stage for a child’s future success and well-being.

While there is a lot of passion in the filed for these teachers, there is also a lot of anxiety around the low pay and benefits and what it means for these teachers future. Why primary and high school teacher are paid more when preschool is the foundation of education.

Can they be treated no any different from the other educators?
