Polye outlines Opposition plans

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV, Port Moresby

After being appointed as the new Opposition leader, Kandep MP, Don Polye has aligned the plans of the opposition bench.

He says, the new opposition is focused on providing a competent and responsible alternative Government for the people.

Polye told members of the media that the opposition will be committed in providing a robust dynamic leadership, while abiding to the rule of law for better decisions for the 6 million plus people of PNG.

“Our immediate actions to be taken are the appointment of new shadow ministers, signing of the Opposition Coalition Accord, launch of alternate government policy and preparations of legislations,” said Polye.

A confident Polye says the opposition will carry on the good work started by former leader Belden Namah on national issues brought forth by the O’Neill-Dion government.

Meanwhile Departmenty Opposition leader Sam Basil called on middle benches and back benches of parliament to think wisely and join the fight in keeping PNG’s future safe.

He says the government must be kept accountable in its entire process of decision making.

The opposition now has a total of 8 members.
