Eda Ranu extends services to Central Province

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV, Port Moresby

Today marked a historic milestone for water provider, Eda Ranu and the Central provincial government in extending water projects to parts of the Central province.

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the two stakeholders for feasibility studies to commence.

The signing gives Eda Ranu special understanding to provide water services outside the city’s perimeter.

This will see Boera, Papa-Lea Lea, Roku and Porebada be catered for, under this agreement.

Eda Ranu Chairlady, Mary Karo said that this initiative was not to compete with sister company, Water PNG but it is with the good understanding to provide water services to the people.

“We are proud to partner with the Central provincial government to deliver this service to our people”, added the Chairlady.

Central Governor, Kila Haoda said that the Central provincial government is eager to see this project started, and people benefit through the project.

“This will be a long-term partnership to provide water services”, said Governor Haoda.

The feasibility study will take 3 to 4 months.
