By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

People of Goilala District will now access vital information from around the country and the world.

This was possible after launching the district’s VSAT program recently in the district.

Local MP William Samb flew into the district to launch the program over the weekend.

“Vsat is an important tool for our people to connect to the outside world”, MP said stated.

Locals will be watching news and other programs on daily basis. Telikom Engineer Stephen Clay says, similar trend can be connected to households if there is a larger electricity supply in the area.

“It is basically the start of Goilala people to see the outside world and connect interms of communication through the landline phone”, Mr Clay said. “There are chances of having access to internet but at a slow rate”, Clay added.

A local leader has been tasked to be the caretaker of the telephones and television for the local communities to view important programs.
