Lifeless Body of Woman Found at Six Mile in Port Moresby

By Quinton Alomp, EM TV – Port Moresby

A woman was allegedly raped and killed on Friday night at Six Mile in Port Moresby. Her body was discovered by a resident on Saturday morning, lying under a tree, a few metres off the fence of Barlow industries.

Residents who saw the body said the woman was believed to be in her late twenties.

The witnesses at the scene of the homicide said she was stripped off her clothes, and appeared to have been raped and then stabbed with multiple knife wounds on her body.

Police and Saint John’s ambulance staff assessed the killing and took the body at around midday.

Six Mile police are appealing to residents to come forward with any information that can assist them in their investigation.

An attempt to speak with the station commander was unsuccessful but officers on duty said at this stage they have very shallow information.

This is the second murder case reported this month. Last Saturday, a 40 year old, private landowner consultant for Kikori Gas pipeline Landowners Association was murdered and his body found in waters off Tatana Island, south west of Port Moresby.

He was identified as Harold Farapo from Lese in Malalaua district, Gulf province.
