Baki on Sea Piracy

By Martha Louis, EMTV News – Lae

Police Commissioner, Gari Baki, says the Morobe patrol post area will be the first civilian centre to develop into a police maritime base. This base will address incidences of sea piracy between the borders of Morobe and Oro provinces.

Baki will visit the Morobe patrol post at the end of this month to start the first phase of the project.

“On the 22nd I will be back in Lae to visit the Morobe patrol post. This will be one of the first civilian centre that will be built as a maritime civilian base and the police maritime unit will be based there so that’s the start of what we want to do in terms of addressing the issue of sea piracy,” Baki said.
