BREAKING: Ministers of Health, Forest and Defence defect from PNC led coalition

There has been a major crack in the ruling PNCled coalition, with the Health, Forest and Defence Ministers announcing their resignation from their portfolios, and from the People’s National Congress Party.

In a press conference that just ended,  Abau MP, Sir Puka Temu, said they have made a decision to move because of internal disagreements over how the country is being managed.

“I have made the decision as a senior leader, and I am very proud that seven other young leaders have also made the decision.  We know that PNC still has the numbers, but we have made the bold decision to leave because of our principles.”

Telefomin MP, Solan Mirisim, who announced his resignation as Defence Minister, has since called on other MPs to  leave the coalition.

“We have seen things happen in front of our eyes. Papua New Guinea is bigger than one person. We cannot continue to pretend that Papua New Guinea is ok.”

Mr. Mirisin told the press conference that during the PNC caucus meeting yesterday,  Dr. Puka Temu asked the Prime Minister to resign. His refusal led to the defections and resignations.
