The St. Mary’s Vunapope Hospital in East New Britain has reopened after it was closed for two days.
The closure came following a breaking and entering incident at the hospital premises by locals, on Sunday night. The hospital’s administrator, Albert Seri says numerous management meetings has been underway since Monday, to find a possible solution to address the issue.
Last Sunday’s incident is the second time this year, that the hospital board had scaled down its operations prompted by a burglary incident.
The St. Mary’s Vunapope Hospital is one of the two biggest referral hospitals in the province, and its closure over the past two days has greatly affected the entire province.
