Football Federation PNG, spear headed by President John Kapi Natto, says their board members are willing to sit down with PNG Football Association Senior Vice President, John Wesley Gonjuan, and his board, to discuss issues affecting both parties in a face to face meeting.
Kapi Nato says it is timely that the invite has come from PNGFA so that all member associations can work together to go through the statutes of FFPNG and the constitution of PNGFA. He says, he is willing to work closely with FAPNG to identify errors and answer questions that have been left unattended for quite some time.
The other issue raised by Kapi Natto’s board, was why some member Associations of PNGFA failed to carry out their national duties to host events while the 12 member Association of FFPNG has managed to do so.
Kapi Nato says now that David Chung is no longer the President of PNGFA, it is time that things are discussed in a way he calls the ‘Melanesian Way’. He says compliance between the factions is very much what is needed. He says if both factions do not comply or disagree, FIFA and OFC will be engaged to mediate and if not, PNG may be stood down as member of FIFA and OFC, which may ruin the status of football in the country.
