Murder Trial Committed

A man accused of murder will stand trial at the National Court in Port Moresby in February.

Jefta Monusa, from Woginara in Wewak District in East Sepik was accused to have struck a police suspect, the late Eric Maia on the head with a gas gun.

The court heard that Maia died from injuries he sustained from that incident.

It is alleged that Monusa was part of a group of children of police officers, who were wearing police uniforms and conducted police work at the Gordons area in March 2017.

And it was during that time, that Mosuna took the late Maia, to the station on allegations of swearing and hit his head with a gas gun.
