World Muju Taekwondo Championships

With only three months to 2017 Muju Takewondo Championships in Korea, the country’s longest serving martial-arts instructor Master Jamuga Stone is now training his martial art student, Steven Tommy for his other international meets before he sets foot in Korea in June.

Master Stone said he believes Steven has what it takes to represent PNG at the world stage, but for now, training will be his number one priority. Master Stone who represented PNG in 1995 said it’s an opportunity and a chance for another young talent to step into the ring to represent PNG.

After speaking to media last week, Steven Tommy of Namatanai, New Ireland Province, said he is looking forward to representing his country in June in the two day event. Master Stone said he is looking forward to supporting Steven and making sure the he sets foot in Korea.

He said while Steven reminds him of when first represented PNG at the world stage. The Muju Taekwondo World Championships will be held in Korea from 22nd to 30th of June 2017.
