An educationist believes the more children we have in school, level of education increases, thus elevating the rate of development.
Godfrey Verua, a teacher by profession, said education is the engine room behind a country’s development.
Mr Verua said despite the Government implementing the free education policy, more children are without a proper formal education.
However, he says the importance of education is not taken seriously in many PNG communities He believes PNG should start encouraging the younger population to value education for development to take its course.
Verua says, a community cannot accept change and develop unless there is a certain standard of the level of education by those in the community.
Verua hails from North Waghi in the Jiwaka Province and has served the education department for 39 years.
A similar story was shared by Kupa Janis, an employee who served the National Forest Authority for 30 years. A Forester by heart, Mr Janis wants to see highly educated elites take lead to help the small people.
