2016 has been a tough year for the University of Goroka (UOG).
Following the boycott and resumption of classes, it was said that the University would not be able to complete the academic year on time.
However, they have managed to pull through and are now near completing all assessments.
“Students are now given clearance forms which is a clear indication that we are near completing all assessments,” Pro Vice Chancellor, Donald Gumbis said.
Similar sentiments were shared by Chancellor Joseph Sukwianomb.
“Our first semester is complete, and we are almost ready to complete the second semester which means, the 2016 Academic year has been a success,” Sukwianomb said.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Professor, Musawe Sinebare, said the University is confident that it will graduate quality students next April.
“Over 1,000 students are qualified to graduate in April next year, and the University remains confident. This is one of the main reasons why we didn’t want to shut down the Academic year, because of the quality of teachers we are producing,” Sinebare said.
