The Enga Tari Development Association of 9-Mile, outside of Port Moresby, has voiced grave concerns about a land title.
This follows a number of eviction exercises being conducted by the National Capital District Commission around the city.
This is the piece of land along Sogeri road opposite the Vitis Industry factory, locally known as Vanuatu, settled by people mainly from the Highlands provinces.
After three generations they have been living in this settlement, developing on it with trade stores and permanent houses.
Government services like electricity and water supply is the lifeline that they have been accessing.
ETDA Chairman, Philipen Sukul, said in 2015 they formed an association renamed as Enga Tari Association in September, to advocate for their rights to earn a land title over this piece of land they have developed.
Meanwhile, they have submitted proposals to the Government, their local MP, and NCDC to give them a land title.
