57th Mt. Hagen Cultural Show To Attract Over 400 Tourists

The 57th Mt. Hagen Cultural Show this weekend is set to attract over 400 tourists.

Over 900 traditional sing-sing groups will be participating at this years show. 15 of these groups will be from other provinces throughout the country.

The annual event will be staged at the Rabiamul Field on August 20-21.

Chairman of the Show Organising Committee, David Kombra, said they are also expecting a big turnout from visitors within the country.

“The show will be opened by Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Tobias Kulang. We are also expecting our leaders in the province like the Governor of Western Highlands, Pais Wingti, and member for Hagen Open and Minister for Public Enterprises and State Investments, William Duma,” said Kombra.

“The major sponsor for this year’s show is National Gaming and Control Board (NGCB), who has given us K150,000 as sponsorship,” he added.

Other sponsors include the Western Highlands Provincial Government, Minister Duma and other big name companies such as Coca Cola.
