26 Graduate from PNG Power College

A total of 26 apprentices graduated out oPNG Power Training College as electrical mechanics last weekend.

The trainees came from various electrical companies inthe country.

ThPNG Power Training College is also inthe process of registering ther trade areas.

The eight week training ended with a graduation attended bPNG power executives, sponsors and graduatesthemselves.

Duringthe graduation,the trainees receivedtheir electrical mechanical level 2 certificate inthe apprenticeship program.

PNG Power Training College Team Leader and Trainer, Maxwell Kombia, thankedthe sponsors and organisations for believing in PNG Power to traintheir staff attheir college. Trainees were told to continue with such training inthe future and to apply whatthey had learnt intheir respective organisations and workplaces.

PNG Power Training College is a registered training organisation withthe National Training Council. It is also a trade test centre as approverd bythe National Apprentice Trade Testing Beard to conduct trade test of electrical Mechanic fitters.

The College is currently enrolling students’for competency based training in level 1, 2 and 3 and is also conducting apprenticeship extension block courses for all three levels. The college is inthe process of registering ther trade courses in diesel mechanics, power station technicians, lines mechanic and machine fitting.

This is to meetthe demands ofthe workforce for more tradesmen and women.
