The 41st National Game Fishing Titles will be held from March 19-28 this year in the scenic Rabaul waters of East New Britain province.
President of the New Britain Game Fishing Club, Tony Henderson, said he is excited about the event, which he has been planning for months and hopes both anglers and non-anglers enjoy their time in the beautiful waters of East New Britain.
The Game Fishing Titles is into its 40th year of competition and has evolved into the leading annual sporting event in PNG, with between 250 and 450 anglers, depending upon venue and a budget usually exceeding K500,000.
The main focus of the National Game Fishing Titles is based on team fishing in which teams choose two days of the nine days of competition to be out at sea.
The Game Fishing Association of PNG monitors all types of game fishing and encourages the conservation of all species.
The titles will be held over the Easter period and will conclude with the final session on Easter Monday.
