Grade 11 and 12 students of Kopkop College attended a special excursion, to Motupore Island, for a history lesson, last week.

The students met Pioneer Professor of Archaeology from the University of Papua New Guinea, Professor Jim Allen, and his group of final year Archaeology students.

The students were on a History and Geography excursion, for a closer look to witness the excavation of clay pot pieces.

The students were taken on a tour of the research facilities by Acting Director of the Research Centre, John Genolagani.

This island holds great historical and biological significance for the country.

The final draft of the National Constitution was compiled here.
