WestIndian Cricket Legends in PNG

WestIndians Cricket legends, Richie Richardson, Kemar Roach, and Dwayne Beavo took time out at Metoreia Park in Hanuabada village for the T20 Pacific MMI and Motor VehicleInsurance exhibition matches.

The Beach Exhibition matches sawthe trio of legends dominatingthe field in style with some friendy fast bowling.

These legends bring valuable skills inthe sport of cricket.  Richie Richardson, known by his wide brimmed maroon sunhatoplayed in six major clubs before he reigned as skipper for WestIndies.

Kemer Roach may not havethe height of some earlier WestIndian greats but his fast bowling talent could not be missed.

Current WestIndies Captain, Dwayne Beavo, who arrived inthe country today made his debut in cricket in 2004 as All-rounder.

The five day tour is part ofthe 2013 T20 Legends Beush organized by CrickePNG in partnership with Pacific MMI and Motor VehicleInsurance  throughthe ‘don’t drink and drive’ campaign.

The trio were able to express satisfaction at whatthey have observed duringtheir tours of schools around Port Moresby.

It was an exciting day out for WestIndian trio in action at Hanuabada Village.

Four teams have been selected fromthe current Barramundi’s and Garamuts players withthe inclusion of some sponsors and formePNG reps.

Rules have been modiflied to incorporate outdoor and indoor cricket rules and include 6 players a side over a side competition. After this exhibition, a gala Dinner will be held at Crown Plaza hotel where several items will be auctioned off.
