Mass Wedding in Port Moresby, Twenty Couples Tie The Knot

by Adelaide Kari – EM TV, Port Moresby

On Saturday March 14, the Murray Barracks Sergeants’ Mess was the venue for a wedding ceremony not for only one couple but 20 couples that tied the knot in the first of its kind Mass wedding.

Among them was EMTV’S very own senior journalist, Delly Bagu who officially got married to Gamini Waigalo, with the other 19 couples by her side.

In the first of its kind ceremony, couples exchanged their vows and sealed a promise with God, promising to love and care for each other till death do them apart.

The main celebrant, Pastor Jeremiah Wola, encouraged the couples to include God in their marriage if they wanted to have a blissful marriage.

He also held a communion, saying that the communion represented their union with God and that God recognised marriage as one of the highest forms of a relationship on earth.
