The POM Racquets Club Season Underway

The Port Moresby Racquets Club started this year’s squash season on a high note, utilising the new facilities that were erected to host the 2015 Pacific Games.

These new facilities have allowed the Racquets Club to stage club competitions for its junior and senior members.

Publicity Officer for the club, Schubert Maketu, has encouraged both young and old, beginners and interested squash players to come by at any time to register and become part of the club.

Maketu said not only do they run clinics for interested squash players, they also run competitions for interested tennis players, as well as development programs for young children.

He added that the POM Racquets Club is planning on running its development programs so that young and upcoming talent can take up squash and promote the code with the hopes that they can one day represent PNG internationally.
