PNG Ports Give K66,000 To Assist Pacific Games Broadcaster, EM TV

by Quinton Alomp – EM TV, Port Moresby

Television broadcasting will become crucial during the 2015 Pacific Games as live coverage will be telecasted to people in provincial centres.

Media Niugini Limited, widely known as EM TV, is the lead broadcaster of the 2015 Pacific Games.

In making sure the Games are broadcasted, PNG Ports Limited has thrown in its financial support to assist EM TV in bringing the Games to the people. With three more months remaining before the Pacific Games, pressure is mounting for the organising committee and construction companies to get the venues ready on time.

The government still maintains that the venues will be ready before the opening ceremony on 4 July. During the two weeks of sporting events in Port Moresby, city residents and those in nearby Central province will have access to the Games, live.

However, thousands in our provincial centres still have an alternative. They will be able to switch on to EM TV and watch all the live action.

In making sure live broadcasts are transmitted, PNG Ports Limited has come on board with K66,000 in assistance to EM TV.

PNG Ports Corporate Communications Manager Peter Korugl, says this funding will help the national broadcaster telecast the Games to its customers in 16 sea ports where it operates. EM TV News Manager Neville Choi welcomed the input of PNG’s leading port operator, saying it shows the commitment PNG Ports has to its business partners in provinces.
