Following its show of interest in May, alongside Fiji, New Caledonia and Tahiti to bid to be host, Samoa has now gone one step further.
Samoa’s Talamua Online reported today that the country had reaffirmed its decision to host the games through Prime Minister Tuilaepe Sailele Malielegaoi who wrote to the Games Council.
The Games Council, on the other hand, has acknowledged receipt though there is a bidding process in place, and Samoa has not received any feedback as yet.
Meanwhile, Samoa Sports Minister Loau Keneti Sio added that Samoa is hoping they will be given another chance to host, considering they have facilities and they already gained host experience in 2007.
The Games Council will announce the host country at the end of this month.
